Handguns stolen during reported attack

A man calling from a Kila Road residence told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that several young men broke into his house and tackled him. He said that while he was restrained, the back windows on his vehicle were broken and two handguns were stolen. The incident is under investigation.

A Bigfork Stage resident said her 12-step program sponsor and his family were squatting at her home, refusing to leave. She said she wants them gone.

There was a report of a metal detector and other items being stolen from a vehicle on Spring Creek Drive.

A man calling from Bridge Street in the Bigfork area reported that a camera, a case and accessories were stolen out of his mailbox.

Someone in a dark green Chevy pickup with flames on the side reportedly stole $50 worth of gas from a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

A Daley Lane resident reported the theft of some ammunition from a storage shed.

A woman on Mountain Meadows Road whose home is for sale said she believes it was left unlocked after a showing because thousands of dollars in countertops, light fixtures, cabinets and mirrors  were stolen from the home.

After a traffic stop on Foy’s Lake Road, a man was arrested on warrants.

A person calling from a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen reported that someone threw a rock through the back window of a vehicle.

An inmate at the county jail reported that her daughter informed her that someone was stealing her boat and breaking into her home. She requested that law enforcement check on her home.

Early Tuesday, at about 4 a.m., a woman was arrested after causing a disturbance at a Cougar Trail residence in the Whitefish area.

A man called Kalispell Police from Lawrence Park Monday to report that his ex-wife assaulted him. A second person called and reported that the same man and woman were throwing shoes at each other. The woman was apparently arrested as a result of the incident.

After a traffic stop on Railroad Street and Fifth Avenue West North, a man was arrested on warrants.

After a traffic stop on North Meridian Road and U.S. 93, a man was arrested, apparently for driving under the influence.

There was a report of two teenagers, “dressed like clowns” and acting suspiciously on Third Avenue East just before midnight. The two were detained and taken to their parents.

Tuesday, there was a report from a bank in the Hutton Ranch Plaza area regarding $2,000 that was missing, and believed to have been taken by someone who works there.

Whitefish Police got a report Monday regarding a black bear that was seen in the vicinity of Wisconsin Avenue and Colorado Avenue. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks was advised.

A woman calling  from Baker Avenue said she had lent a vehicle to a male friend to run quick errands but he failed to return so she was reporting the vehicle as stolen. The man was later stopped and arrested by the Montana Highway Patrol near Big Arm in Lake County, after the trooper responded to a “road rage” report about the man aggressively tailgating another motorist.

Early Tuesday, at about 1 a.m., a woman reported that she was sleeping in her vehicle outside a Central Avenue bar when an unknown man reached in her vehicle and stole her keys. The man told the woman’s boyfriend, “your girlfriend is too drunk” to drive.

Columbia Falls Police got a report of a bicycle being stolen from a Fourth Avenue West residence on Monday.
