Legion baseball: Mariners blow by Dillon

DILLON — Mission Valley scored 13 runs on 13 hits and Bradley Pichler went the distance on the mound as the Mariners rolled over Dillon 13-6 on Thursday during first-day action at the Maybelle Arthur Class A American Legion baseball tournament.

TJ Olson and Jared Young both had 3-hit games and Olson also had a Mariner-best four RBIs.

Ryan Pablo, 2 for 4, doubled for Mission Valley and Brennan Andrews and Alex Killian also had two hits each.

Pichler scattered six hits. He fanned four Dillon batters and issued three walks.

Mission Valley started strong, pushing five runs across the plate in the first two innings and put the game out of reach with four-run innings in the sixth and seventh.

Mission Valley is back in action today. Tournament action runs through Sunday.
