Mark 'Doc' Erwin Hindahl, 63

Mark “Doc” Erwin Hindahl, 63, of rural Havana, Ill., passed away at 4:43 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.

Mark was born Oct. 3, 1949, in Pekin, Ill., to Harold and Loretta (Baker) Hindahl.

 Surviving are his parents of Manito, Ill.,; two sons, Robert Hindahl of Sherwood, Ore., and Jeremiah and Jennifer Hindahl of Havana; one daughter, April, and Mark Rutherford Hindahl, of Kalispell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jonni, and Donald Mills, of Columbia Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by one brother, George Hindahl.

Mark worked as a park ranger and in law enforcement in Montana. He was injured in the line of duty in 1987 and retired on disability.

He was a member of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, the Montana Peace Officers Association, and the Mid-West Antique Race Car Association.

He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enjoyed racing midget and antique sprint cars. 

Mark was a loving son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
