Lakeside memoir available locally
“Growing up with a Chamber Pot” is a tribute to author Sue Gwaltney’s hometown of Lakeside.
A nostalgic, funny and true story (no names have been changed to protect the innocent in this memoir), the book recalls Gwaltney’s growing-up years on Flathead Lake during the 1950s. Readers will find themselves transported back into the time of cool cars, fast horses and zany adventures tempered with a hefty dose of Christian upbringing.
In a simpler time of life when kids made their own fun, still respected their elders and had the courtesy to close the gates behind them, this story will leave readers smiling and reminiscing of days gone by.
Selected for publication by Inspiring Voices, a partner of Guideposts Magazine, “Growing up with a Chamber Pot” is currently available at Somers Bay Cafe in Somers and the Museum at Central School gift shop in Kalispell. The book also will be offered at the Lakeside Fair July 13.
It may also be ordered online in either e-book format or soft cover from InspiringVoices.com, Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com. Soft-cover retail price is $16.95.
The book may also be purchased directly from the author. Contact Gwaltney at 250-3151 or sueandwinston@gmail.com.
