Legion baseball: Loggers upend Tri-County at Big Bucks Tournament

LIBBY — Will Reichel held Tri-County to just two hits over six innings as Libby rolled to a 6-1 victory Friday on the second day of the Big Bucks American Legion baseball tournament.

Jared Winslow, 2 for 3, and Micah Germany both doubled for the Loggers and had RBIs. Andrew and Luke Haggerty both drove in a run.

Also Friday, it was Lewiston Cubs 12, Tri-County Cardinals 0, and Moscow Blue Devils 11, Strathmore Reds 1.

Tournament play runs through Sunday.

LIBBY — Nick Crawford fanned 13 batters and held Rainier Baseball to two hits as Mission Valley came out on top in the Big Bucks Tournament.

Mission Valley’s TJ Olson had the big blow in the game, a three-run home run with one out in the fourth inning. Bradley Pichler and Bransen Krebs both walked before Olson stepped up to the plate.

Zeke Webster-Yaqui had Mission Valley’s other hit, a single in the fifth inning.

Logan Wood turned in a strong mound outing for Rainier. He finished with eight strikeouts and walked six batters.

The Mariners followed that win by dropping the Strathmore Reds 5-2.

Pichler went the distance on the mound. He struck out six and walked five.

He also drove in a run.

Ryan Pablo, Webster-Yaqui and Alex Killian all had two hits for the Mariners.
