Legion baseball: Loggers cut down Lakers A

LIBBY — Oliver Grupenhoff’s sixth-inning RBI-double lifted the Libby Loggers to a 4-3 win over the Class A Kalispell Lakers Tuesday.

Kalispell rallied from a 3-1 deficit with two runs in the top of the fifth before Grupenhoff put Libby (22-12 overall, 9-4 conference) back on top.

Micah Germany batted 2 for 2 to lead the Loggers. Zach Sands was 3 for 3 for the Lakers.

Libby starting pitcher Will Reichel earned the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits in 6 2-3 innings. He struck out six and walked six. Jared Winslow recorded the final out to get the save.

Game two of the doubleheader was postponed due to rain and will be made up on July 3 at 5:05 p.m.
