Kalispell man identified as crash victim

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night as John Thomas Paine, 29, of Kalispell.

Paine was the sole occupant of a vehicle that rolled near the intersection of U.S. 2 and Big Horn Drive at about 11:55 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Montana Highway Patrol said Paine’s vehicle went off the road because he failed to negotiate a curve in the road due to excessive speed. The crash is still under investigation.
