Man asking for money causes concern at school

A school on U.S. 2 went into informal lockdown Monday after reporting a suspicious man to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. The man walked into the school asking for $10 and offering to leave something for collateral. The man, who said he was from Marion and going to a job interview north of town, then left, slightly upset because no one would give him the money. During the lockdown, doors to classrooms were locked but students were allowed to use the restroom.

Several older teenage boys were reported shooting at birds from a balcony on Electric Avenue in Bigfork.

A pair of concerned residents reported a possible cat hoarder on Fairmont Road.

The landlord of a North Hilltop Road property in Columbia Falls reported their past renter destroyed the unit.
