Texaco Country Showdown auditions slated

The Texaco Country Showdown returns to Kalispell this month.

Auditions will be held in J.C. Penney Court at the Kalispell Center Mall March 16 and 23.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. Auditions run until 3 p.m.

Finalists will perform April 5 and 6 at Majestic Valley Arena.

The showdown is designed to find promising country music talent and give performers the chance to launch their music careers. The Texaco Country Showdown begins each spring with more than 400 local contests sponsored by country music radio stations throughout the United States. Winners advance to state competitions, where they vie for a $1,000 cash prize and the opportunity to move on to regional finals and, finally, the national final.
