State A Basketball: C-Falls boys beat Browning

BILLINGS — Columbia Falls started strong and finished well to top Browning 72-56 on Friday in loser-out action at the Class A state boys basketball tournament.

Columbia Falls (16-6) opened with a 27-point first quarter and closed with 21 points in the final quarter.

The Wildcats led 45-28 at the half.

Alex Presnell tossed in 22 points to pace Columbia Falls. Ty Morgan followed with 14 points and Luke Kazlauskas added 11.

Columbia Falls was deadly from the free- throw line, sinking 31 of 39 shots. Browning was 6 of 10.

DeeJay Lazy Boy scored 17 points to lead Browning. George Hall had 13 and Dan Hall 12.

Columbia Falls plays a loser-out contest today at 11 a.m. That winner moves on to the consolation final at 6:30 p.m.
