Battered bird gets dumped

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday regarding a beat-up looking chicken showing up at the county dump. The reporting party said it appeared the chicken had “been through a lot.” An animal warden took the chicken to a clinic for treatment.

After a traffic stop on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell, a deputy learned that the driver had a suspended license. He also arrested the person for drunken driving.

A woman calling from Montana 35 in the Evergreen area reported she had been assaulted by her 15-year-old daughter, who was arrested for partner-family member assault.

A woman reported the theft of two diamond rings from a home on Sanctuary Farm Lane.

A man was arrested for partner-family member assault after a  disturbance at a location on U.S. 93 west of Whitefish.

There was a report of a woman being confronted by a store clerk for failing to pay for $25 in gas on U.S. 93 north of Kalispell. When the clerk rapped on the vehicle window, the driver laughed and drove off. Later, the woman’s father showed up at the store to pay for the fuel.

A man calling from West Evergreen Drive reported witnessing a burglary in progress at a neighboring cabin on West Evergreen Drive. The possible burglars got in a vehicle and left the area.

At about 3 a.m. Monday, a resident on Angel Ridge Road in the Lakeside area reported witnessing a burglary in a neighboring apartment. The apartment was entered, things were moved around, and the suspects involved got in a vehicle and left. 

 

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday regarding a burglary at a business building on Airport Road. The perpetrators broke into five or six businesses in the building, but it was unclear if anything was stolen.

A man reported walking up to his vehicle in a store parking lot on U.S. 93 North, when a woman who was hiding behind nearby cars came out, yelling at him and throwing a piece of paper at him. The man said he turned in the same woman after she keyed his car a few months ago.

There was a report of a man showing up in a women’s locker room on Sunny View Lane.

At about 8 p.m., a man was arrested on Fifth Street East, apparently for being drunk in public.

There was a report of two sisters getting into a fight at a Fourth Avenue West North residence.

At about 1 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a burglary report on Fourth Avenue West. Fresh pry marks were discovered on a building door and about $100 in cash was taken. Officers were at the same location the previous night for a similar burglary report.

A man was arrested on First Avenue West for possession of dangerous drugs.

There was a report of a former “booth renter” at a First Street West location destroying a chair worth $1,000. Witnesses say they saw it happen.

 

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday regarding two rifles and radios stolen from a vehicle while it was parked at a grocery store on U.S. 93 South.

A woman reported that her home on Waverly Place had been burglarized and jewelry stolen.

 

The Evergreen Fire Department was dispatched to a grass and brush fire in the Rose Crossing area at about 1 p.m. Monday. At one point, the fire was estimated to have burned about two acres.
