Wayne Charles Bengtson, 42
Wayne Charles Bengtson passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home in West Glacier.
Wayne was born on Jan. 20, 1971, in Whitefish, the son of Charles and Susan Bengtson.
Wayne was a wonderful father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, son and treasured son-in-law.
He worked for the Glacier National Park Service as a heavy equipment operator, at his family owned excavation business and for the State Highway Department. He worked a number of a years with Jordt Logging and with his father as a sawyer and equipment operator.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, skiing, waterskiing and, most of all, spending time with his family and son. Wayne was a dedicated and loving father with a great sense of humor. One of the many things he will be remembered for was his integrity. He was an honest man with a hard work ethic and his word was good.
We can’t describe how much we loved him and he will be missed by so many people.
He was survived by his wife, Lindsey, and son, Colter; his parents, Charles and Susan Bengtson; eight brothers and sisters, Theresa and husband Greg McClure, children Michael and Natasha; Michelle; Lynn; Bill and his wife Theresa; Luke; Cheryl; Faith and husband Russell Yerian, children Wyatt and Quinn; and Suzanne and her husband Luke Warner; mother-in-law, Liz Calkins; brother-in-law, Jason Calkins; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and godparents, Thad and Brenda Jordt.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5150 River Lakes Parkway, Whitefish; 406-862-2615. All friends and family are welcome.
As per Wayne’s wishes his ashes will be spread in his favorite hunting spot.
