Yarn store offers April classes

Camas Creek Yarn offers classes for knitters and felters in April.

 Debbie Arnold teaches All About Yarn from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 2. The cost is $25, and no previous experience is necessary.

This class is for those who have wondered how to substitute yarn in a pattern or the best way to use that skein in their stash. Learn about the different fibers and their appropriate usage, yarn characteristics and weights, matching gauge and more. Tour the store with hands-on learning experiences.

Trish Peebles teaches a Simple Elegance Shawl class in two sessions. Take the class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 3 or from 3 to 4:30 p.m. April 6. Cost is $15; the class is for those whose experience includes knitting and purling.

The shawl is a great beginner project. The lightweight shawl wears well in spring and summer.

Peebles teaches a two-session Bermuda Shawl class from 6 to 8 p.m. April 5 and 12. Cost is $20; this class is for people with knitting and purling experience.

The Bermuda shawl is colorful, lacy and suitable for advanced beginners. The class covers how to work short rows and increase and decrease.

Paula Rindal teaches The Magic of Felt: Baby Booties from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19. Cost is $35; no previous experience is necessary.

Learn to use a resist while wet felting merino wool into baby booties in this class.
