Members of the Shannon family and friends are reflected Friday in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall where 1st Lt. Kenneth Arthur Shannon’s name is engraved. A color guard presented the flag and U.S. Rep. Steve Daines, R-Mont., read a letter written by Laron “D” Shannon on the 49th anniversary of Lt. Shannon’s death. The day also marked the beginning of Marine Corps boot camp training for Lt. Shannon’s son, Colin.
