Betty JoAnne 'Boop' Bowman, 58

| March 16, 2013 4:00 PM

Betty JoAnne “Boop” Bowman, 58, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Kalispell Regional Medical Center on the morning of March 14, 2013, after a very brief illness.

Betty was born Dec. 12, 1954, to Warren and Betty Stevens at Madigan General Hospital in Fort Lewis, Wash.

On Sept. 17, 1976, she married the love of her life, Bradley Gene Bowman. Together they raised their daughters, Tina and Mary. She loved her girls very much. Their daughter Michelle entered their lives later and had a special relationship with Betty.

Betty will always be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She loved the outdoors. It didn’t matter if it was camping, fishing or riding ATVs, Betty loved doing all of it. She could out-fish anyone, anywhere. The Bitterroot Salmon are “safer” without her out on the ice.

She was an exceptionally skilled seamstress and spent many years sewing for Haar Brothers. Her gentle and caring nature made her a perfect fit there. She loved owning and operating her own tailor shop. This was just one of her jobs in her life.

She will be greatly missed every day by both her family and her close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Stevens; her stepfather, Laurel Wood; and her sister, Karen Taylor.

Betty is survived by her husband, Brad; their daughters, Tina Grande and husband, Brian, and children, Adrienne and AJ, Mary Bowman and children, Jade and Dalton, Michelle Monohan and husband, Dwight, and children, DJ and Adam; her mother, Betty Clothier and husband, Dale, of Arizona; brother, Dave and wife, Robin, of Alaska; and also many other family members, close friends and loved ones.

The family will hold a celebration of life in April in Marion. Family and Friends are all welcome.
