Hockaday awarded $500 grant
Humanities Montana has awarded the Hockaday Museum of Art a $500 grant.
The money is intended to support the Kalispell museum’s Conversations with the Artists program, in which artists with works on display at the Hockaday discuss their works and their artistic careers in presentations at the museum.
In May, the Hockaday will feature exhibitions by Cheryl Ferrin and Terrance Guardipee, both of whom will be featured in a Conversations with the Artists presentation May 23.
The exhibitions feature Ferrin’s “Blackfeet Portraits” and a selection of Guardipee’s “Honoring the War Horses of the Blackfeet.”
Alongside these pieces, the museum will also feature two works each from the artists portrayed in Ferrin’s portraits, creating all together a traveling exhibition of approximately 45 works. The exhibition will be at the Hockaday from May 23 through Aug. 17.
Humanities Montana is the state’s independent nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Since 1972, Humanities Montana has provided services and grants to hundreds of Montana organizations in support of public programs in history, literature, values and public issues.
