Irish folk group plays Ronan show
<p class="p1">The Makem and Spain Brothers bring their brand of Irish folk music to the Ronan Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. March 25.</p>
Big Productions, a fundraising adventure of the Lake County Youth Home, brings the Makem and Spain Brothers to the Ronan Performing Arts Center for a concert of Irish folk music.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The Makem and Spain Brothers have captivated audiences around the world with their vocal power and stage presence. A host of instruments and four male vocalists in tight, three-part harmony create the group’s signature sound.
The Makem and Spain Brothers are at their best on stage where their talent and enthusiasm draw in fans who have never experienced the joy of folk music.
The band of brothers have honed their craft over nearly two decades of international performances and are now one of the truly stalwart, road-tested Irish vocal groups available. They have played before millions of people from Canada to Texas to California to the Caribbean and over to Ireland, highlighting national PBS specials and popular Irish talk shows along the way.
Folk artist Pete Seeger said they “show people of many different backgrounds that old songs don't have to die, if a small group of men or women love them and make sure to get together once in a while to sing them.”
The Makem and Spain Brothers’ concert is part of a series that is made possible in part by the Montana Performing Arts Consortium Presenter Development Program, which is supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Montana Arts Council and a legislative grant from Montana’s Cultural Trust.
Tickets are $12 each, or $14 at the door.

Youths 18 and under get in free for series concerts, thanks to the Youth Home, but children 11 and under need to be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
