George Boharski, 79

| March 23, 2013 10:00 PM

George Boharski died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 21, 2013.

George was born in 1933 to Jennie and George Boharski in Chicago.

He married Margaret Abbott on July 11, 1953. The Boharski’s had seven children while they lived in Chicago. George moved his family to the Flathead Valley in 1966.

George was an electrician and master welder. He worked on the Alaska pipeline, Kalispell Regional Medical Center, Colstrip, the Libby dam and Boeing, often traveling hundreds of miles to and from jobsites to support his family, then spending the weekend camping, fishing, hunting and picking huckleberries. His family was always first and foremost, and George’s legacy will be in the many values he taught his children.

George held strong religious and political convictions and never passed up the opportunity for a good argument. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a great cook and enjoyed a good spicy meal.

George was preceded in death by his son, William; and wife, Margaret Boharski.

George is survived by his siblings, Jim Boharski, Bob Boharski, and Jean and Bob Kadar of Chicago, and their children; his children, Eileen Boharski-Flynn of Bozeman, Dr. Mike Boharski of Kalispell, Jennifer Boharski of Seattle, Lorrie Boharski of Kalispell, Steve and April Boharski of Spokane, and David Boharski of Plains; 13 grandchildren, Chris Muffitt, Meagan Flynn-Mesmer and her husband Aaron Mesmer, Joshua Calkins, Molly Flynn, Ryan Boharski, Morgan Boharski, Katie Boharski, Jacob Lighter, Julia Boharski, Andrew Boharski, Jared Boharski, Emma Boharski and Danielle Boharski; and three great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Asher and Brooks.
