Carol Janice Barnett, 83

Carol Janice Barnett, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

She was born into the world on Dec. 15, 1929, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Rupert Lester and Era LaVerna (DeWitt) Frey. She was the eighth child to join the family. She was known to her siblings as “Lois.”

During Carol's life she lived in Idaho, Missouri, Iowa, California and moved to Montana in 1954. She married George A. Barnett in 1955 and raised four children. She moved to Kalispell in 1966.

She had worked as a waitress, bartender and a bookkeeper-secretary. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved country music. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; and seven of her siblings.

She is survived by her four children, Ron Barnett and wife Sandy of Marion, Wanda Barnett, Lester Barnett and wife Michele, and Lonnie Barnett, all of Kalispell; also two brothers, Doyle Frey and wife Betty, and Jerry Frey, all of Albany, Ore., also seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with tons of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Carol will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Glacier Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tim Bartholomew officiating.
