Thief makes off with Easter ham

An Eighth Avenue West woman told Kalispell Police that someone stole her Easter ham Sunday morning. The ham reportedly was stolen from a fridge on the porch and police had no suspects.

Two neighbors in an ongoing dispute on Fifth Avenue West started arguing again after one of them started a diesel truck and smoke from the vehicle went into the other’s yard.

Earlier that morning, a drunk man reportedly went into a gas station to buy cigarettes and almost fell over. A clerk noticed later that the man also punched a hole in the bathroom ceiling.

Saturday night, someone was throwing things at cars on Sunset Boulevard. An officer found some eggs in the road.

A man said his sweater and car keys were stolen from his car while he was at the gym.

Earlier that evening, a man said he and his wife were walking in Woodland Park when a bunch of teens in a white Ford Explorer drove up and started harassing them and yelling profanities at his wife. The man told police that he followed the teens to confront them and the driver said it wouldn’t matter because he’s only 17.

An employee at a business told police that a man beat up his 15-year-old daughter giving her a black eye and bloody nose. The assault reportedly happened in Kila and the girl was turned over to her mother.

Saturday afternoon, a woman reportedly stole several packs of cigarettes from a store on Third Avenue East North.

A woman on First Street West said two kids on skateboards threw fry sauce all over her vehicle. An officer talked to the kids and to a mom and no charges were pursued.

A man had a muscle spasm while driving on North Meridian Road and crashed into a tree. The driver was OK but his vehicle caught on fire.

Saturday, a Sixth Street West man reported finding road signs left in his yard to the Columbia Falls Police Department.

A man told Whitefish Police that a dead deer has been left in front of a shopping plaza on U.S. 93 for several days and asked for someone to come remove it on Saturday. An officer said he would tell public works about it on Monday.

A truck parked on Central Avenue was reportedly damaged in a hit-and-run accident.

A caller complained that a disgruntled former employee keeps showing up at a job site.

Early Sunday, a woman complained that a man who was probably drunk or high threw her on the ground. She told police the man was still at a bar.

Officers arrested a woman in connection with a disturbance on East Second Street.
