Band plays 40th annual spring concert

Flathead Valley Community Band’s 40th anniversary spring concert is Wednesday.

The band features musicians from ages 15 to 90 under the direction of Matt King. The group will perform a broad repertoire at this concert, from composers such as Percy Grainger and Gustav Holst.

Songs will including Frank Ticheli’s “American Elegy” and the “Pie in the Face Polka,” which shows off the band’s clarinet section.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the Flathead High School auditorium. The show is appropriate for all ages, and there is no admission charge.
