Club discusses Japanese printmaker

| May 1, 2013 6:30 PM

Stumptown Art Studio’s Cultural and Art History Club meets May 14 to discuss Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.

He was a painter and printmaker best known for his woodblock print series, “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fugi” (circa 1831). The club will use the artist as a beginning point to explore the media he used and the culture in which he worked.

Rosella Mosteller leads the group, which meets from 10 a.m. to noon at Stumptown Art Studio, 145 Central Ave., Whitefish. Sign up for an annual membership to the club, or drop in for $5 a visit.
