Golf: Mee wins Frontier by 7 strokes

MISSOULA — Libby’s Jackie Mee shot a three-round total of 232 to win the Frontier Conference women’s golf championship on Tuesday.

The Carroll College sophomore shot a third round score of 78 at Larchmont Golf Course to finish seven strokes ahead of Rocky Mountain’s Katy Peterson and McKenzie Webinger. Mee shot a 74 in the first round and an 80 in the second. Kalispell’s Sarah Cunningham shot a 291 for the Saints.

Mee advances to the NAIA women’s golf national tournament hosted on May 21-24 by Doane College at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.

The Lewis-Clark State women easily won the team title, beating Rocky by 24 strokes. Lewis-Clark also won the men’s contest.
