Drive-through no place for alcohol

Saturday night, Kalispell Police arrested a drunk driver at a fast food restaurant on West Idaho Street. The man went through the drive through and tried to give alcohol to employees.

A hotel clerk said the child of guests checking in fell off the back of a couch and through the window. The child was not hurt but the fall shattered the window.

Earlier on Saturday, a caller said his mom dropped him off on Fifth Street West, started screaming at him and tried to run him over. He said he was not hurt because he jumped out of the way, but his mom left 15 feet of burnout marks on the road.

A radio, cash and an overnight bag with personal items were stolen from a vehicle on Rosewood Drove. Some of the items were found in the bushes at a neighbor’s house.

Two girls were reported fighting on Fifth Avenue West.

A caller on 14th Street East called police to let them know a stop sign just showed up in the alley, right next to a garbage can.

A house fire was reported on 13th Street East but the homeowner had it mostly under control before it was knocked down.

A woman on 12th Street West complained that vehicles were parking on her property. She said officers were out earlier to ticket vehicles but more kept coming and parking there even though she posted signs.

Sunday morning, a malfunctioning washer filled apartments with smoke on Appleway Drive.

A caller on Fifth Avenue East suspected a car was beaten with a hammer by a neighbor, but did not want to pursue criminal charges.

Whitefish Police arrested a drunk driver who was reported Saturday evening. The man got his white pickup truck stuck on a curb and almost hit an outdoor grill at a restaurant while trying to leave.

Saturday morning, a caller reported two toddlers wandering around on Talbot Road to Columbia Falls Police. The girls were returned to their mother on Beth Road.
