Trash-2-Flash an arts center fundraiser

| May 8, 2013 7:30 PM

Eureka’s Creative Arts Council will present its third annual Trash-2-Flash Recycled Fashion Show May 18 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Eureka.

In Trash-2-Flash, local artists create haute fashion from stuff that was destined for the landfill, recycling centers or that has just been taking up space around the house and yard. Everyday items will be transformed into unique, inventive and ultimately outrageous outfits.

In addition to the eye-popping performance, there will be a silent auction of art pieces made from recycled objects. The individual outfits may also be purchased through the silent auction.

Once the fashion show is over, the Uniquely Reused Band will entertain with their show of virtuosity on musical instruments made from more reused objects.

The event also includes dinner, which includes a choice of barbecued tri-tip or grilled veggie sandwiches with a side and dessert. Beer, wine and soda will also be available for purchase.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for general seating, or $20 for premium seating — or $24 for general seating and $29 for premium seating for those who want dinner. For children under 12, dinner is half-price.

Tickets are available in Whitefish at Sappari and in Eureka at Elrod Chiropractic, the Movie Store, Silverfish Gallery, Interbel and Heavens Peak. Tickets also are available online at www.creativeartseureka.org.

Proceeds from the show support the Creative Art Center, which provides community members opportunities to tap into and develop their imagination and fitness with classes and workshops from art to zumba. The center is owned and operated by the nonprofit Creative Arts Council and relies on support from the community through membership dues, class fees and fundraising events.
