A drunken man angry about a woman moving out of his Montana 35 home was arrested by Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after pulling a knife and cutting one of the people helping her move Wednesday afternoon. The woman was being helped by a man and two other women as she packed her belongings, upsetting the man with whom she had been living.

The man allegedly pulled out a knife and swung it, cutting the other man’s hand. The cut was minor and bleeding was quickly stopped. The woman’s friends eventually convinced the man to let them leave, and he was later located and arrested for assault with a weapon.

A man who apparently was never taught the lesson about sticks and stones was arrested after hitting a man and a woman with a stick at Lion Lake outside Hungry Horse.

A curious Kila 5-year-old who had just learned about 911 decided to try it out, hanging up when he was asked how old he was. His mother later agreed to handle the issue herself.

A trio of teen terrors were reported holding a pistol out of a vehicle on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell and pretending to shoot at people.

A Dern Draw woman had to explain her passion for pooches when it was reported that she had 15 dogs in her single-wide trailer, a violation of her rental agreement. She admitted having the dogs and said she would have her kennel license by June 10. All of the dogs appeared healthy.

A thief, possibly looking to prepare for a weekend vacation, cut through the fence at a Fir Terrace property and stole stereo and boat parts.

A pickup truck got an impromptu paint job when it was tagged with graffiti while sitting behind a post office on Going-to-the-Sun Road.

A power-hungry probationer was reported for stealing electricity on Tall Pine Ridge. According to his neighbor, the man’s electricity was shut off, also cutting off power to the well which they shared. The neighbor said he put the power in his own name so it could be restored to the well, and the probationer started using it without paying him for it.


An observant woman contacted the Kalispell Police Department after witnessing a drug deal in a park, where she saw two little baggies, white powder and marijuana. She said the people involved in the deal were also drinking.

A shirtless traveler carrying a Pabst Blue Ribbon longboard and accompanied by a dog was advised to “continue on his journey” after he was reported as harassing customers outside a U.S. 2 West building. He had told employees at the building a week prior that he was hitchhiking to Idaho.

An employee of a Fifth Avenue West salon reported someone put a dead bird on the hood of his car.

The only evidence officer were able to find of a Trump Drive woman’s report that someone was poisoning her dogs was a piece of chewed-up plastic in the backyard.

A man was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling and cussing in front of a Ninth Avenue West home, and then falling down by the fence.


A pair of hotel guests' drug escapades got them kicked out of a U.S. 93 West hotel and drew involvement from the Whitefish Police Department. An acting general manager reported a housekeeper had found needles, a burnt spoon and many tinfoil bindles on the bathroom counter. That information came to light after the pair had been kicked out following multiple complaints of noise and the smell of marijuana coming from the room.

The manager said he did not call police at that point because he could not smell anything. When the room was checked after the guests left, all of the drug paraphernalia and trash were gone.

A kayaker drew the attention of a West Lakeshore Drive resident and eventually police after the extremely drunken man was reportedly repeatedly tipping over his kayak.

A Fox Hollow Lane resident who didn’t appreciate the sounds of movie magic being created complained about noise due to a movie being filmed in the area.
