EUREKA — Eureka softball coach Andy Escobar called it a rough day.

The Lions closed out Class B-C regular season softball play Friday by dropping a doubleheader to St. Ignatius (Mission) — 20-2 and 16-1.

“Too many walks, too many errors,” he said.

“We’re just helping the other team out too much.”

Eureka pitchers issued 14 walks in the first game while the defense totaled 10 errors.

Eureka did clean things up fielding in the second game, finishing with three errors.

Cassidy Morgan had the big hit for the Lions. She ripped a solo shot to left field in the second game for her second home run of the season.

Eureka (3-14-1) will play a state play-in game on Tuesday.
