Two explanations for odd behavior

Saturday night, a man driving north on U.S. 2 told Kalispell Police that people on four-wheelers keep riding up next to his vehicle and punching it. The man said it might have something to do with a lost bet on a race. But a deputy with the sheriff’s office suggested it might have something to do with an accident that occurred near Depot Park. The deputy met up with the man and escorted him to the Kalispell Police Department.

Someone stole $35.81 of fuel from a gas station on East Idaho Street.

Earlier on Saturday, a woman on Indian Trail Road said a neighbor’s vehicle rolled into her yard and created a bunch of damage.

A woman stopped at a traffic light at South Main Street and Airport Road said a woman she has a temporary restraining order against pulled up next to her, flipped her off and started laughing at her. The woman then swerved in front of her and cut her off.

Early Sunday morning, a drunk driver who stopped to get some fast food was arrested when drive-through employees reported him to police.

A man sitting at a business on East Idaho Street told police he was up all night doing drugs and wanted to turn himself in. The man said he was upset that a friend offered him meth, and that he felt he was conned into taking it because he can’t say no.

Someone found a backpack full of prescription drugs and clothes in Woodland Park. It was turned over to police.


Kids throwing rocks at Crescent Drive and apartments on Saturday night agreed to stop and to pick up all the rocks they threw after being confronted by Columbia Falls Police.

People who tore up a parking area at a church with their ATVs agreed to fix the damage.

Someone was reportedly tased and arrested after crashing a vehicle into street signs at U.S. 2 and Montana 206 early Saturday morning.


Saturday morning, a man reported as a suspected drunk driver because he was weaving all over the roadway was not drunk. Whitefish Police told him he needs to do a better job of driving.

Someone stole a “slow sign” with a little green person holding a flag that a woman put in front of her house to try to slow traffic.
