| May 15, 2013 6:30 PM

Combining comedy with poignant emotional honesty, Flathead High School theater department’s Acting 4 Class will present “One of Our Clowns is Missing” May 23 and 24.

Show time is 7 p.m. in the David M. Hashley Theatre at Flathead. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens. Tickets are available at the school’s main office, Photo Video Plus and The Bookshelf.

Sandy, a nervous and shy girl who lacks all self-esteem, has taken a job with the So-Long Travel Agency. What she doesn’t know is that the owners of the travel agency, Lucy and Carlson, have a nasty fondness of robbing museums.

Soon enters the mysterious Samuel Hahmberger, who asks Sandy to help him smuggle a few circus stars out of town. As luck would have it, Sandy arranges the covert travel plans the same day Lucy and Carlson plan their heist, which is the same day hospital aides and police show up searching for escapees from the local mental institution. This crazy group changes Sandy’s perspective on life and gives her the confidence to wake up tomorrow and start anew.

“The play has a very sweet and warm message about belonging and acceptance. And there is a twist at the end that just grabs the heart and is very unexpected. This show is a collection of crazy and love all in a single play that portrays the need in all of us to find who we are in this world,” director Jake Wilson said.

“Each character brings his or her own interesting twist on what it means to belong to a community. I hope the audience will take home the idea that it’s OK to be a little crazy because there are others just like you. I hope the audience gets a sense of belonging and warm feelings from this production.”
