Glacier edges Butte in opener
GREAT FALLS — A run in the first inning held up as Glacier opened the Class AA state softball tournament Thursday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Butte.
Jena Willis went the distance for Glacier in the circle. She allowed eight hits, two of those were doubles. The Wolfpack defense backed her up with an error-free performance.
Glacier had just five hits by two players — Marysa Rogozynski went 3 for 3 and Kayla Russell was 2 for 3.
Glacier was the lone Western AA team to post a win on the first day.
Glacier moves on to face Billings West today at 10 a.m. West defeated Helena Capital 10-2 on Thursday
