Baseball: Winslow hurls 1-hitter as Loggers top Rangers, 5-0
LIBBY — Jared Winslow tallied 17 strikeouts in a seven-inning one-hitter, helping the Libby Loggers to a 5-0 win over the Kootenai Valley Rangers in an American Legion baseball game Tuesday.
Kootenai Valley’s C.J. Henrie led off the game with a single and Winslow retired 21 of the next 24 hitters he faced. Two reached on errors and Sam Hannay drew a walk in the fifth inning.
Micah Germany, Banks Stocking and Andrew Haggerty each tallied two hits for the Loggers, who scored three runs in the third inning and two in the sixth.
Kootenai Valley pitcher Austin Perez pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits and 10 walks. He struck out three.
