County paves 11.6 miles of roads

The Flathead County Road Department has wrapped up its overlay work for the season, completing 11.6 miles for a total of $1.1 million.

The North Fork Road was the biggest overlay project this year, with 10,750 feet of roadway improved. Other major projects were completed on KM Ranch Road, Pleasant Valley Road, Gopher Lane, Wishart Road and Star Meadows Road.

Improvements were made on 22 county roads.

The average cost per mile was $95,946, county Public Works Director Dave Prunty told the county commissioners on Monday. The asphalt cost was $41.67 per ton.
