Reckless drivers endanger others

The Kalispell Police Department received a trio of reports of motorists trying to run other drivers off the road Friday night.

At 6:53 p.m., it was reported that a disrespectful driver was shining a spotlight in another motorist’s rear-view mirror while simultaneously tailgating the vehicle.

At 7:55 p.m., a motorist reported a pair of men in a green Chevrolet truck tried to run them off the road.

At 10:58 p.m., a small red compact car was reported driving through lawns, trying to run another motorist off the road.

A River View Drive man accidentally dialed 911 when he rolled over his phone while sleeping.

A passerby reported a man hit another vehicle in a Treeline Road parking lot, and that the driver raised his voice to the passerby when his action was pointed out. The passerby said there may not be any damage, and was more concerned about the driver’s attitude.

A man and woman reported arguing in front of a North Main Street bank were found to be trying to figure out who was driving which vehicle. They were separated for the night.

A Whitefish Police Department officer counseled a 13-year-old boy and his father on the subject of marijuana use and the dangers it presents in today’s young people after the father reported his son smelled like marijuana when he picked the boy up from a 15-year-old friend’s house.

A large dog was reported attacking other dogs in a park.

A Sixth Avenue East North woman contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after a large black bear got into her trash. It was believed the animal could have been a Labrador retriever until the bear was found heading down to the river.

A motorist was cited for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on U.S. 2 West, and the driver and a passenger were later released to a sober driver.
