Snowballs: Not an approved barking deterrent

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a call Sunday night from a Pleasant View Drive resident who said someone was throwing snowballs at her house. It turned that a neighbor was throwing snowballs at the house in an attempt to stop a dog from barking. The man was advised to call the sheriff’s office rather than throw snowballs.

Earlier in the day, a person at a store on Electric Avenue said she had confronted and detained a shoplifter.

A pregnant teenager calling from Blaine View Lane claimed that she was recently kidnapped by her father from California, where her mother is in rehab. The girl was packed up and prepared to run away.

A woman calling from Elk Street in Coram said her landlord shut off the power and padlocked the breaker box, even though the caller claimed that she was up-to-date on her bills.

There was a report of a deer poached, with evidence left behind, at a location off Fox Farm Road.

There was a report of a father and his teenage son having a fight at a Shady Lane residence. The father ended up getting arrested for partner-family member assault.

 

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday about a man throwing a woman to the ground at the back of a restaurant on U.S. 93 South. The two were separated for the night.

A College Avenue resident reported locating items that had been stolen from his house at a local pawn shop.

A woman calling from 10th Avenue West asked for help in removing her son, 23, from her residence because of bad behavior on his part.

A person calling from Fifth Avenue West reported the theft of a bicycle.

A person calling from Fifth Avenue West said he was threatened by a man with a knife, and he believed the man was in his garage. The suspect also apparently stabbed a plastic window on a van in the same area.

Personnel at the Kalispell hospital asked for assistance with a runaway teen who being disorderly in the emergency room waiting area.

There was a report of two men attempting to break down a door at a residence on Appleway Drive. One of the men ended up getting arrested on warrants. 

There was a report of a man and woman leaving a store on Hutton Ranch Road with backpacks full of merchandise. The shoplifters were caught on video surveillance.

 

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday from a Somers Avenue resident who said her credit card number had been stolen and was recently used by someone at a Kalispell store.
