Nomad gets emergency-vehicle buying agreement
Columbia Falls-based Nomad Global Communication Solutions has been awarded a multimillion-dollar contractual buying agreement with Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support.
The buying agreement is effective for five years through Sept. 18, 2018.
This purchasing agreement enables Nomad to sell and deliver emergency vehicles directly to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies as their supply requirements are appropriated.
“What this is, is a mechanism for us to be able to sell more to the government,” said Clay Binford, Nomad’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our anticipation is that with this more in-depth exposure, it will give us the ability to acquire more contracts.”
With the new agreement, Binford said, Nomad can assure customers that the company is qualified to provide certain products.
“They can do a quick and easy purchase versus a long drawn-out public-bid type of scenario. The onus is still on us to present our product, present what we can do and show them why working with Nomad is the best,” he said.
Though Binford said hiring is usually an ongoing process for Nomad, future contracts that will be secured through this agreement would most likely necessitate hiring even more people as the business expands in both revenue and employees. The company has around 60 employees currently.
Nomad is developing a tactical product line that it will roll out over the next several months.
