Football roundup: Sandry passes for 4 TDs, runs for another in Bigfork's win over Troy

BIGFORK — Josh Sandry passed for four touchdowns and ran 48 yards for another score to carry third-ranked Bigfork past Troy 41-27 in District 7B football action Friday night.

Sandry completed 9 of 11 passes for 192 yards. He had three carries for 65 yards.

Boyd Rieke rushed for 100 yards on 13 attempts and one touchdown for the Vikings (5-0 overall, 1-0 league).

Cameron Nissen had two touchdown receptions from Sandry totaling 50 yards. Isaac Martel caught two passes for 64 yards and one score and Jonathan Landon had three receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Gabe Hickman was 12 of 22 passing for 140 yards and three touchdowns for Troy. Luke Haggerty had five receptions for 109 yards and three scores.

Bigfork is back on the field Friday for a 7B contest at Plains.

Loyola 45, Eureka 8

EUREKA — Matt McHugh threw five touchdown passes to give Missoula Loyola an easy Class B nonconference victory over Eureka.

McHugh hit Patrick Kosena for three scores, covering 10, 10 and 40 yards.

Zach Holenback had the other two touchdown catches, 23 and 30 yards.

Austin Perez scored on a 15-yard run and Perez followed with a two-point conversion pass to Dalton Smith, giving Eureka a brief 8-7 lead in the opening quarter.

Trent Vaughn scored for Eureka (4-2) on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Perez rushed for 87 yards and was 9 of 19 passing for 107 yards. He threw two interceptions.

Vaughn had 66 yards rushing.

Eureka returns to 7B play on Friday, hosting Troy.

Whitefish 26, Polson 7

WHITEFISH — Whitefish evened its conference record at 1-1 with a homecoming win over Polson at Memorial Field.

The Bulldogs racked up more than 250 rushing yards as quarterback Luke May ran for 162 yards on 20 carries and running back Caleb Thilmony finished with 75 yards on 14 carries.

Thilmony got Whitefish (4-2 overall, 1-1 Northwestern A) started with a 15-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. May added a 3-yard scoring run in the second and Thilmony ran for his second touchdown in the third. May found Sean Foley on a 32-yard touchdown pass that put the Bulldogs ahead 26-0 before Polson (3-2, 1-1) answered with its only score, an 8-yard pass from Andrew Weltz to Cedrick Smith.

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown scored 28 straight points en route to a Northwestern A victory over Libby.

Jared Winslow put Libby on the scoreboard in the second period with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Brown.

Winslow was 12 of 29 passing for 133 yards.

Gus Butler, eight carries for 208 yards, had touchdown runs of 92 and eight yards for Frenchtown (2-3, 1-1).

Libby (1-5, 0-1) travels to Polson on Friday for another league contest.
