Helena blows by Flathead, 51-7

HELENA — The third- ranked Helena High Bengals scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and ran away with a 51-7 Class AA football win over Flathead Friday at Vigilante Stadium.

Helena (6-0) piled up 510 total yards while Flathead was held to 83.

Helena quarterback Troy Arntson was 22 of 28 for 281 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 84 yards on six carries. Chase South caught nine passes for 136 yards and running back Cooper Lanier ran for 103 yards on 17 carries.

Flathead’s only touchdown came in the second quarter when quarterback Easton Johnson found receiver Alex Croymans for a 3-yard score. Croymans tacked on the extra point to cut the Braves’ deficit to 31-7, but Helena answered with two touchdowns in the third quarter and another in the fourth.

Johnson finished 8 of 20 for 21 yards. Five of those passes went to Croymans, who had 18 yards receiving. Anthony Holm led Flathead’s ground game with 42 yards on 19 carries.

Flathead (2-4) will look to rebound next week when it hosts Bozeman (6-0).
