The city of Whitefish will host a second public comment session on Tuesday, Oct. 15, to discuss the U.S. 93 West corridor plan.

The open house, planned from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, is an opportunity for the public to provide input on the organization, land use and character of the corridor.

The city has contracted with WGM Group and Sitescape Associates to draft a corridor plan focusing on future land use for U.S. 93 West from Miles Avenue to the Mountainside Drive area.

The corridor is the gateway entrance into Whitefish from the north and includes a mix of uses including suburban residential, resort residential, resort business, low-density residential and high-density residential, changing to commercial after the highway crosses the Whitefish River and enters downtown.

The open house is part of an ongoing public process that began with an initial input meeting in August and will include two more public meetings.

For more information visit the city’s website at www.whitefish.govoffice.com. Project information can be found by clicking on “Projects” and selecting “Highway 93 West Corridor Land Use Plan Information.”

Comments may be mailed to: Dave Taylor, City of Whitefish, Planning & Building Director, P.O. Box 158, Whitefish, MT 59937, or email wf93wcorridorplan@wgmgroup.com. Participants attending the open house are welcome to submit comments at that time.
