Elaine Thoring, 87

Elaine Thoring, 87, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at North Valley Hospital. 

Elaine was born March 11, 1926, to Florence (Wellington) and Albin Pennecard.

Elaine married Lester “Bud” Thoring on March 24, 1948. The couple had two children, Leroy and Carol.

Elaine had many hobbies. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, painting, line dancing and performing with the Calamity Singers.

When Elaine was young she started her working career at Arts Café. She had several other jobs including working on Big Mountain, at the Donut Shop and working for 30 years at Safeway. Elaine was a member of the Moose, a bowling league and a golf league.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Lester “Bud” Thoring; brother, Wayne Pennecard; and sister, Phyllis Lewis.

She is survived by her son, LeRoy and his wife, Carolyn, of Kalispell; her daughter, Carol Ianitello and her husband, John, of Littleton, Colo.; and granddaughter, Heather Garber and her husband Adam, and great-granddaughter Elena, all from Aurora, Colo.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at Austin Funeral Home.
