Man tries to lure girl into van
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report regarding the 16-year-old daughter of a resident on U.S. 2 in Evergreen being approached by a man in dark green minivan who offered her a ride Monday morning. When she refused, he starting yelling at her to get into the van. The girl had never seen the man before.
Two neighbors on Montana 206 in the Columbia Falls area said trespassers have been causing criminal mischief on their properties recently, usually on the weekends.
An East Evergreen Drive resident reported the theft of her daughter’s scooter by a boy who lives nearby. The boy said the scooter was left in his yard.
There was a report of license plates being stolen from a boat trailer on Willow Drive.
A man reported that he left his watch at a woman’s house and she could not locate it, leading him to believe she may have pawned it.
A woman dropped off a lost wallet at the sheriff’s office with $300 in cash and credit cards.
There was a report of an intoxicated man staggering into traffic on U.S. 2 in the Coram area.
An employee at a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen reported that a man stole clothes, a duffel bag and gloves and then left on a bicycle. The employee was able to get some other items, including propane bottles, from the man before he managed to get away.
After a traffic stop on River Road in the Columbia Falls area, a man was arrested for drunk driving.
There was a report of a fence being cut open at a storage business on Egan Slough Road.
A man calling from U.S. 2 east of Columbia Falls said his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend has been harassing him, and recently vandalized some of his property.
A woman calling Kalispell Police from Fifth Avenue East Monday said her car had been vandalized, and it looked like someone sliced a front seat with a razor blade.
There was a report of a tenant who became disorderly after being asked to leave a rental on First Avenue West. At one point, he was throwing his belongings into the street and trying to pick fights with other tenants.
A father calling from a Sixth Avenue West residence reported that his son and another boy threw a rock through a nearby business window. The kids were spoken with and the parents agreed to take care of the damage.
A highly intoxicated man was seen walking down the middle of East Oregon Street.
Tuesday morning there was a report of a flag being stolen from a business on Airport Road.
There was a report of four teenage girls fighting on Fourth Avenue West.
A man said he was assaulted by the owner of a business on East Montana Street and North Main Street. The man said the owner threw something at him and then punched him, apparently because he became upset that the reporting party was carrying a visible firearm.
Whitefish Police got a report Monday from a U.S. 93 South business owner who said he had been getting calls all day from people who said someone at his business had been leaving death threats on their phones. The matter is under investigation.
A man calling from a First Street East business said his bicycle was vandalized while he was having drinks after work.
Columbia Falls Police got a call Monday from a Martha Road resident who said a mutt who lives nearby has been causing problems, most recently mounting the reporting party’s six-month-old puppy.
A man claimed that he was assaulted at a bar on Nucleus Avenue, but it turned out he was highly intoxicated and had been removed from the bar.
Tuesday, at about 2:39 a.m., a Fourth Avenue West resident said that a man came into the reporting party’s house and “broke everything.” The man was familiar to the reporting party, who intended to get a restraining order against him.
