Patrick Moulton of Kalispell has been identified by the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office as the second victim from Thursday night’s crash on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell.

Moulton, 43, from Kalispell, was the passenger in a Jeep Cherokee driven by Kalispell resident Joseph Powell, 43, who has been arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide.

Powell was northbound on U.S. 93 when he crossed into the southbound lane and crashed head-one into a pickup truck driven by Kalispell resident Brian Delaney, 43, who died at the scene.

Moulton died later at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Powell sustained a broken left arm and a dislocated right hip and was briefly hospitalized. When he was discharged from the hospital on Friday, he was taken into custody and booked into the Flathead County Detention Center on the preliminary charges.

A Montana Highway Patrol officer said Powell is suspected of being drunk at the time of the crash. He remained in the county jail as of Monday morning.
