| October 23, 2013 6:00 PM

Stumptown Art Studio’s third session of fall art offerings begin the week of Nov. 4, with programs for every age group. In addition to the popular youth classes, a variety of adult workshops are on the schedule.

Mondays are clay days at the art studio. Muddy Mondays return from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. for 9- to 12-year-olds. Each week students will work on clay techniques while using their imaginations to create pieces out of clay.

The preschool group gets together for Art Exploration every Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Each four-week session will emphasize a variety of art materials and fun projects. “The Joy of Giving” is the theme for the third session.

After school on Tuesdays for kindergarten through third-grade students is the popular Art with the Masters series. In the third session, students will learn about Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, and then create their own artwork taking inspiration from these masters.

The community After School Arts and Crafts Club for 9- to 13-year-olds meets from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Stumptown Art Studio is providing a creative space for kids to exercise the right side of their brains and create exciting art projects.

For the littlest artists, Parent-Toddler Art Time offers 1- to 3-year-olds a chance to get messy and creative. The session takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Later on Thursdays, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., there is Art en Español for home-schoolers, which uses art and music as a means for teaching the Spanish language. After school on Thursdays is Mixed-up Mediums in Sculpture for ages 7 to 9. Clay, found objects, paper and paint will be used to create inspiring clay castles in the third session.

A variety of adult workshops given by resident and guest artists are held every month at the nonprofit community art center. The November lineup includes acrylic painting with Ke’vin Bowers on Nov. 10, Beginning and Intermediate Clay Mondays and Wednesdays, precious metal clay Nov. 11, glass fusing Nov. 13,  Cultural and Art History Club Nov. 12 and Wild Women Wednesday Nov. 20.
