Herd of horses hits highway
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Monday regarding more than 20 horses being out on both sides of Montana 35 near Flathead Lake Lodge south of Bigfork. The horses were eventually herded off the highway.
A man reported finding a teenage girl lying in a vacant lot next to his Quail Court property at about 5:15 a.m. She said she didn’t want to go to her nearby home, but he advised her to go home because of the cold weather.
A Lower Valley Road resident said he had a renter who gave him a puppy, which he took care of, and now the renter wants the puppy back.
A Montana 206 resident reported that a tree fell on her property as a result of Sunday’s wind storm. She intended to cut it up for firewood, but a neighbor ended up coming onto her property and taking the tree for firewood.
A woman claimed that she accidentally threw out $3,500 in jewelry when she dumped garbage at the Bigfork green box site sometime last week.
A woman calling from a residence on Western Drive said she believes someone entered her home, because items were moved around or missing.
There was a report of two male employees and a female employee having a physical fight in the lobby of a fast food restaurant on U.S. 2 in Evergreen.
A man calling from a residence on Montana 35 in Evergreen said that the girl he’s lived with for the last two years stole his wallet and all of his money.
Kalispell Police got a report Monday from a Fifth Avenue East resident who said his television and video games were stolen sometime over the last couple of days.
A Fifth Avenue West resident reported that her iPod was stolen sometime over the last week.
There was a report of a dispute between tenants over vehicle parking at an apartment complex on Fourth Avenue East. The reporting party said he was threatened by a neighbor displaying a pistol on his belt. The neighbor later claimed to be threatening to defend himself if necessary.
Early Tuesday, just before 4 a.m., someone spotted a large black bear walking along the railroad tracks near Seventh Avenue West North.
There was a report of a bicycle stolen from a residence on Appleway Drive sometime overnight.
Whitefish Police got a call Monday from someone who claimed to have seen “a large ball of fire” in the sky traveling from east to west south of town.
A woman calling Columbia Falls Police from Second Avenue East said a decorative Halloween skeleton was stolen.
A Third Avenue West resident reported that a neighbor’s dogs killed some chickens.
