Betty and the Boy to give Bigfork show

| September 4, 2013 5:00 PM

Betty and the Boy are bringing their unique sound back to Northwest Montana this month.

The group plays at Clementine’s Cabin in Bigfork Sept. 20. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Betty and the Boy’s sound is difficult to categorize. “Though the quintet’s string-laden melodies occasionally anchor them in the territories of folk, bluegrass or minimalist rock, they’re more at home in the cracks in between,” the band’s website says.

The band features Bettreena Jaeger, a self-taught vocalist from Kalispell, and Josh Harvey, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Portland. The two began their career performing as a duo; more recently, they have been joined by Jon Conlon (upright bass), Michelle Whitlock (violin) and Nanci McDonald (cello).

Tickets are a $15 to $25 donation. Seating is limited; all tickets will be presold. To order tickets, email Josh at josh@bettyandtheboy.com with “tickets” in the subject line.
