Keith K. Keil, 87

Keith K. Keil, 87, passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, after a brief illness. 

He was born on May 25, 1926, in Conrad. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Keil; their four children, Donald and Kathy Keil of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Becky and Keith Fahrenholz of Rapid City, S.D., Richard and Salla Keil of Grants Pass, Ore., and David and Shirley Keil of Great Falls; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a sister; and his infant child, Robert Keil.

Keith was very proud to have served in the Army Air Corps from November 1945 to May 1947, which included service in Japan and the Philippines. 

He was a painting contractor all of his life, and owned the Shelby Bowling Center in Shelby from 1964 until 1977. He was an avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years in Kalispell, and was especially blessed with many good friends in and around the Village Greens community. He was a member of the Risen Christ Catholic Church of Kalispell and a lifelong member of the VFW.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Risen Christ Catholic Church in Kalispell.
