Painter to lead Crits and Croissants
After a summer hiatus, the Hockaday Museum of Art’s Crits and Croissants forum is starting again this month. Sunnie LeBlanc heads up the Sept. 14 artist forum.
“Your art should not match [your] sofa,” LeBlanc says. “Looking at your art from all directions will be the focus of this month’s session, along with color harmony and composition."
LeBlanc, a Boston University graduate, is a member of the Outdoor Painters Society, a signature member of the Fort Worth 15 and has painted in plein air competitions in Texas, Montana and New England. She had a solo show, “On the Rocks,” at the Bigfork Museum of Art in 2010, as well as at the Fort Worth Art Center and is currently working on a series of historic barns titled “American Castles” for exhibition in 2014.
When not painting, LeBlanc is a docent emeritus at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas, and at the Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell.
Artists 15 and older are invited to bring one or more pieces of recently created artwork to get LeBlanc’s feedback. Coffee and croissants are provided.
Cost is $5 for members, or $7 for nonmembers.
The forum takes place from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Hockaday’s classroom. The museum is located at 302 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. A wheelchair-accessible entry and elevator are available.
