HAMILTON — Looks like Whitefish picked up right where it left off last year.

Mozi Gerber, Shanoah Montano and Nathan Boone scored two goals each as the two-time defending Class A state soccer champs opened the 2013 season with an 8-2 triumph over Hamilton.

The victory was the 28th straight for the Bulldogs.

“We played extremely well,” Whitefish coach O’Brien Byrd said.

“I was really impressed with their lack of rust. It looked like a midseason team right away.”

Taven Edland and Jared Johnson scored the other goals for the Bulldogs. Boone assisted on three scores.

Whitefish pounded the net early, scoring four times in the first 12 minutes.

“We got after it right away, they struggled to keep it going and we kept the pressure on,” Byrd said.
