| September 7, 2013 4:00 PM

George Lewis Heaton Sr., 97, passed away on Aug. 6, 2013, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

George was a two-time honorable World War II veteran in the U.S. Air Force.

He retired from Rome Cable/Alco Aluminum, then built and ran his own hardware store in Camino, Calif.

George Sr. was an honest man who believed in his country. He was a loving man who touched many people’s lives. He was liked by all.

He outlived his parents, siblings and children. He was a true survivor who never gave up, but always gave. He was a gentleman who would, and did, give the shirt off his back with no expectation of thanks.

“I can’t say enough about the man, but those who knew him ... knew.”

He is survived by his great-granddaughters, Stormy J. Heaton and Cassi K. Heaton, and grandson, Mateo Heaton.

“Rest in peace, Grandpa. We will always love, miss and remember you. Love, Tater and girls.”
