Soccer roundup: C-Falls girls tie Livingston

COLUMBIA FALLS — Haley Purdy’s goal at 64 minutes gave Columbia Falls a season-opening nonconference 1-1 Class A soccer tie with Livingston on Friday.

“In the first half, we had more possession, but they won the first half,” Columbia Falls coach Greg Trenerry said. “The second half was somewhat equal. We need some work.”

POLSON — A pair of quick Belgrade goals in the second half were the deciding factor in a nonconference contest for Polson.

The Panthers’ Emily Foss scored unassisted in the 42nd minute, followed six minutes later by a goal from teammate Hailey Wisner. Belgrade goaltender Autumn Rollings made eight saves on 13 Polson shots to record the shutout.

POLSON — A pair of goals in the second half led Belgrade past Polson in a nonconference game. 

Polson’s Jonah Kasmitz scored in the 45th minute to pull the Pirates within a goal in the second half. But, a late goal from Belgrade’s Jeffrey DeBuse put the match away.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Livingston’s Murphy Polsak scored in the 75th minute to steal a win against Columbia Falls in a nonconference match.

“We were just a litte bit nervous,” Columbia Falls coach Peter Browne said. “We just need to find the pace of the game. Our effort was good, the flow of the game was off a little bit.”

Wildcats goalkeeper Mason Gedlaman had eight saves in the close contest. Columbia Falls plays again today, hosting Belgrade.

Eight different players scored goals as Stillwater Christian rolled to an easy win over Great Falls Home School at the Cougar Classic at Stillwater Christian School.

Julian Edmond scored three times for Stillwater (2-1). Bach and Joe King both netted two goals.
