Apparently dogs only annoy one man
The Columbia Falls Police Department responded, yet again, to a man on Second Avenue West complaining about his neighbor’s dogs. He was told, again, that another person needed to complain about it before anything could be done.
Dispatch received a 911 hang up from a residence on Nucleus Avenue. When an officer arrived to check it out, there was no one home.
A caller reported a woman, who appeared unresponsive, was lying along the river about a quarter of a mile past Teakettle Bridge. She was transported to North Valley Hospital.
A cyclist on Ninth Street West reported someone broke a key off in his bike lock and now he couldn’t get his bike. He told dispatch he would wait by the bike rack for an officer to help him.
A girl ran away from home on Fourth Avenue East North. Her mother did not know where she was going. When an officer caught up to her, the girl stated she was meeting some boys at a gas station and was spending the night elsewhere.
A caller on Third Avenue East reported a vehicle he had seen repeatedly speeding up and down the road.
The Whitefish Police Department responded to a disturbance on Iowa Avenue, where a neighbor saw a couple pushing each other in a back alley. The woman was claiming the man choked her, and she was scratching him.
A gray Toyota 4Runner was involved in a fender bender on U.S. 93. One of the drivers complained about all the illegally parked cars in the area in town for a soccer tournament.
A caller on Lupfer Avenue had to leave his condo due to the overwhelming smell of marijuana. An officer couldn’t smell any pot when he arrived.
A man was being disorderly at a bar on Central Avenue. He tried to rip the back door off its hinges. He was told if he returned, the bar staff would call the poliSave and closece. Evidently, he returned.
The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to a reported explosion on U.S. 2 West sometime after 9 p.m. Saturday Calls to the department for more details were not immediately returned.
